I am a 50 year old girl,  I say girl because I usually dont feel mature enough to be called a women. I have 2 daughters 26 and 29 and a grandson 2yrs. I have 2 cats and 1 hyper Jack Russell terrier named Daisy, but important in this info is the significant other.  He is the man I always I wanted but never had. That is my doing, I always wanted the sickest one in the room and I usually got him.  The healthy ones ran like hell.

I have had so many careers there are too many to count, I excelled and then crashed at them all, that is what this alcoholic does. Do everything really well and then stop and sabotage it.  It is true of all my careers and marriages.  So some how at the age of 50 I have to stop the  madness while there is still time.  I have not had a drink in 18 months, prviously it was 13 years.  There is no one to blame but myself for the last drunk.  I had to get my head to shut up and that worked  so well for so many  years that I figured it would work again.  It did shut my head up, only it was the voice of reason that was gagged.  I caused more wreckage in 3 months than I did in many years.

So I am here in Folsom now, with a second chance, a good job, good relationship, good kids, and some idea of how to keep from drinking one day at a time.
