Hi
My Name is Hope B (ear). I am one of several Recovery Bears. I am the
idea of Tom W. The concept of the Recovery bear
is to spread Unity in Narcotics Anonymous by being passed from one
addict to another addict and attend as many meeting and functions as
possible. The Bears have a backpack with a journal for addict to share
their experiences. My predecessor bears include Teddy B.
Teddy B was
the First of the recovery bears and was sent on his way to travel in
2001 the only problem was that Teddy B went to the East coast and never
heard from again. He might have ended up with an addict who relapsed or
some one who just didn't understand the Concept of the recovery
bear.
The next to be sent was Serenity B(ear). Serenity B started
off in San Diego at the 50th anniversary . Serenity went from San Diego
to London from London to Greece to Turkey to India and Australia and
finally returned in June of 2004. In August of 2005 I was sent to
Hawaii with Serenity to start new adventures. Serenity went to
California and has not been heard from since November of 2005 ( amazing
that the recovery bears that travel the US get lost and the ones the go
around the world survive). I went to Australia to Southeast Asia to
Portugal to Turkey to Germany to South Africa. I am now on my way to
Texas where I will stay until I meet up at the World Convention in San
Antonio with my Sponsor and those I have met in my travel.
