I am a recovering Alcoholic and Addict. I have been sober since June 20th 2005. I belong to the 25th Hour group in Houston Texas. I have worked my 12steps wih a sponser. I work at Directions Of Recovery w/Federal Parole clients. I never imagined I would be working with convicts when I spent my whole life around them.. Its a challege. I am able to see the distruction everyday with these guys. I see them throw there lives away for a simple drink or drugs. It has kept me on guard with my recovery. It gets hard at times because you get to know them and then they run.. But I guess I have been running for years. It keeps me grateful .
Recovery happens one day at a time and is possible when you have a close, personal, relationship with Jesus Christ !
We're a New Testament Christian 12 Step group for those who have recovery issues such as alcoholism, drug addiction, mental illness, damaged emotions, and abusive experiences. Through hearing God's Word, bible study and personal discipleship, you stop being conformed to this world and experience the transformation of the renewing of your mind. Anything that has been learned can be unlearned. Certainly this is the major path of renewal in the New Testament.
