Hi, my name is Sharon and I'm an alcoholic. My sobriety date is May 1, 1997 and by the grace of God, it's the only one I've got. I love the program of Alcoholics Anonymous...plus MA, CA, NA...you name it I probably qualify everywhere. AA has given me a life beyond my wildest dreams. I used to sit in my room daydreaming about what life could be like. I was an isolator, I isolated and thought about doing lots of things. Today I have the opportunity to live life with all it's ups and downs. When I got sober, one of the things I remember in my moment of clarity was that I wanted more than anything to live life without needing to escape. Through working the steps and the program as it has been suggested to me I live life on life's terms.....not always perfect, but without a drink or drug. Don't know where all that came from...guess I felt like sharing when I wrote this.
