OPPORTUNITIES ~Another 24 hours...

OPPORTUNITIES ~
:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~
A wise man will make more opportunities than he finds.
Francis Bacon
:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~
There is a promise that more will be
revealed as we trudge the road of happy
destiny. We all start by building on the
basics, the foundation that must be in
place. In grade school I learned to read
and write; in high school, how to
research and train myself to acquire
information. In college, I gained
specific advanced information that
allowed me to build upon, and advance my
interests. When I applied the same
principles to the program, I got similar
results, but even more so. When my mind
was opened to spiritual principles, I
received much more than that I was
seeking. My thoughts were lifted to a
much higher plane of ethics.
In searching for an answer to compulsive
overeating, I was exposed to additional
opportunities to grow by doing. Often I
tried them. These exercises sent my
thoughts to other areas, which I again
explored. I am amazed at what I have
learned while looking for something
else.
We can all learn truth if we will open
our hearts and minds. We will then be
without excuse not to exercise every
opportunity to practice it.
ONE DAY AT A TIME . . .
Am I taking advantage of every
opportunity to grow?
Some opportunities?
Any opportunities

Wednesday’s Reflection
Posted on: 07/23/2008
SPIRITUALITY IS NOT NECESSARILY a comfort zone.
Most of us, myself included, prefer a spiritual path that builds inner peace, self-esteem, confidence in times of trouble, and so on.
We prefer not to embark upon a spiritual path that leads to painful inner change and difficult questions!
The spiritual path certainly leads to positive outcomes, but it can also lead us out of our familiar routine and demandsignificant changes in our thinking and patterns of living.

ANOTHER 24 HOURS...
Posted on: 07/22/2008
NOW THIS IS THE CONFIDENCE THAT WE HAVE IN HIM,
THAT IF WE ASK ANYTHING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, HE
HEARS US. AND IF WE KNOW THAT HE HEARS US,
WHATEVER WE ASK, WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE THE
PETITIONS THAT WE HAVE ASKED OF HIM.
( 1 JOHN 5:14-15 *NKJV )
Dear Nicol,
We often find ourselves to busy to stop and say a prayer
when we have a rough day. In this life everything seems like
it has to be accomplished A.S.A.P. So we often forget to
speak to God in prayer about it before we react.
Therefore one must remember that; THE PRAYER OF A
RIGHTEOUS MAN IS POWERFUL AND EFFECTIVE!.
( JAMES 5:16 *NIV ) More powerful and more effective than
anything else on this Earth, even when we must react
As Soon As Possible.
Now Nicol, have you ever wondered about the
abbreviation A.S.A.P.? Generally we think of it in terms
of even more hurry and stress in our lives. Maybe if we
think of this abbreviation in a different manner, we will
begin to find a new way to deal with those rough days
along the way...
So when.......
There's work to do, deadlines to meet;
You've got no time to spare,
But as you hurry and scurry-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
In the midst of family chaos,
"Quality time" is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.
It may seem like your worries
Are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease our cares,
And He'll respond to all your needs
A.S.A.P. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.
In HIS Love & Service,
Pastor Allen

THIS DAY~NOT A DIFFERENT ONE
Posted on: 07/20/2008
There are days when I feel impatient with the way my life is going.
Maybe my emotional healing isn't happening fast enough for me, and I feel angry or frustrated. Maybe I'm having financial problems, or my life doesn't satisfy me. Maybe caring for my partner is tiring, or I can't find the way out of my own way and I feel frantic. Today I will practice being patient. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to do nothing - to wait for events to unfold in their own time.
I can learn to relax and stop trying to force things to happen. I can't control everything in my life, and today I will stop trying. I don't have to achieve all my goals in one day or even one month.
As hard as it may seem, for today, I will be a patient person.

TODAY-NOT YESTERDAY

"And how shall you punish those whose remorse is already greater than their misdeeds?"
Kahlil Gibran
**********************************
We are not bad people trying to become good; rather, we are sick people trying to get well. It takes a long time for some of us to believe this truth. We have been programmed to believe the worst about ourselves or ironically, to believe ourselves to be much better than others. This appears to be a common denominator in our dis-ease. We despise the person we perceive ourselves to be. Virtually every event in our lives drives us deeper into the abyss of remorse, self-abuse, self-hate, and self-serving. We must stop believing lies about ourselves. The fact that we are here on Earth is proof that we belong and that we have the right -- even the obligation -- to be all that we can be.

ONE DAY AT A TIME... I will honor and respect myself.

TODAY (DAY 1)

~ SELF-TRUTH ~
"I cannot be true to God or to anyone
else until I am true to myself."
I have spent much of my life
role-playing. As child, partner, employee, addict, I have often lostmyself. Who am I? Why am I here? If Istop playing these roles will I
still exist? Today I am in the process of finding the real me, the person God
created. I strive to be a better
partner, friend, and employee. And it was
through this discovery that the addict
in me began taking a back seat to the
child of God that I truly am.
I cannot do God's will nor be supportive
of others if I am dishonest about who I
am.When Moses asked God who He was, God
replied, "I am who I am." I am also who
I am. I have nothing of which to be
ashamed.
ONE DAY AT A TIME . . .
I must be true to myself if I wish to be
of service to anyone else.
