We got him in this afternoon. My Mom and Step Dad drove him up to Belton, Texas and got him in. I am just too sick right now on the Interferon for my Hep C and was not able to go with them because of having my own Doctor appointments today.
I spoke to Lee this evening for about five minutes. That is all they will allow the first few days that they are there in acute care. He sounded tired but was glad he was there and they are not letting him go until they can figure out what is going on. He sounded relieved about that when he talked to me this evening.
Lee has a guy assigned to him and he likes him and Lee is supposed to tell him every time he sees something and what he is seeing so they can monitor him. The guy assigned to my son is to be in sight of Lee at all times.
He is in there with eight other boys and has two roommates. He had not met them yet when I spoke to him on the phone. I will keep everyone posted on his progress. He will see his psychiatrist tomorrow and they will start determining what needs to be done to treat him.
The Doctor that saw Lee today said that his thyroid was enlarged and they were going to run blood tests on him and have that checked this week. He could tell just by looking over Lee physically that it was enlarged and showed my Mom and Step Dad when Lee bent his head back and looked at the ceiling.
This was initially our concern with putting him on Lithium because it does cause thyroid problems but the Doctor says that its only been four days since Lee has been put on Lithium and that it's not the Lithium that is enlarging his thyroid at this point. I will fill you all in when I know more.
Thank you all for continuing to keep Lee, Me and Family in your prayers it is greatly appreciated and I told him today that he has a lot of people praying for him.
