Amy

Amy was probaly my most difficult attempt at sponsering someone.  She was very child like & thought that was cute.  I guess it had worked for her for so long that she thought I would play too.  NOT for long.

She was in her 30's & lived w/her mom most of her life.  Her mother & she fought alot, but she could not leave her mother.  She wanted a mommy! Didn't want respondsibility, to work or have to answer to anyone.  It was a mess.

This was a very sick girl & I really tried alot of different ways to help her.  Nothing worked.  She got to where she just wanted to be w/me all the time, like I was her mommy. If she wasn't w/me, she called & called until I would just stop answering.  It was insane.

Amy was constantly threatening suicide & taking a lot of pills.  She would get all messed up on those pills & show up at my place.  I wouldn't let her drive, so she would just hang around or I would have to drive her back.

The phone messages got bad & crazier.  Finally one day, I took her to the hospital.  She was commited to a state hospital.  While she was there, she called constantly, usually not making any sense.  She thought people were trying to kill her, that the nurses wanted to have sex w/her & it got pretty scary.  I tried to talk to her, to the nurses & to her mother.  No positive results.  I ended up changing my phone # & moved to another town nearby w/the man I am now married to.

When she got out, she tracked me down at meetings & carried on about how she needed me & how sorry she was.......still high, still making threats.  She tried to get my address & new phone #, but I didn't give it to her.  I told her that I would have to see a lot of changes first.

She left messages all over for me saying that if I wouldn't come to her, she was going to move to Ohio.  As far as I know, she did.

I hope she is doing better & getting the help she needs.  It was a sad time.
